I spent last Friday out in the Hamptons with a good client of mine tooling around a new showhouse this season called “Holiday House Hamptons.”  This is the summer version of

the original Holiday House which is held each year in New York City at the Academy Mansion around Thanksgiving/Christmas time and I was eager to see what my fellow designers had drummed up in the way of interior design creativity with a Hamptons’ bent.

MARSHALL WATSON INTERIORS…do not miss the hand painted walls and the out-of-this world fabric on the bed!

Funds raised at all Holiday House Showhouses go to organizations involved with breast cancer research and this particular event benefited the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. The founder and guiding spirit behind Holiday House is Iris Dankner, an interior designer with a strong interest in woman’s issues and, in particular, with raising money for breast cancer research.

THOM FILICIA…an elegant/comfortable mix of furniture but my favorite pieces where the armchairs done up in two fabrics!

Each room is created around a holiday theme or a unique moment  that inspired the designer.  The concept is to integrate a celebration of life with an event to raise money for a disease that affects so many women in this country. I am pleased to say that there was a terrific group of designers that put together a beautiful exhibition of their individual design talents.

RICHARD MISHAAN DESIGN…an elegant dining table with some fabulous art surrounding it!

The Showhouse is located in Bridgehampton and is part of the Fair Hills development of classic Hamptons’ houses being constructed by the Villadom Coproration. If you are summering out there do not miss the opportunity to go and see the lovely rooms. As you realize, this is a great “twofer”…great opportunity to get some terrific ideas for your summer home as well as contribute to a most worthy cause. Plus, if you are looking for a house to purchase out there you get the opportunity to tour this beautiful home completely finished.

DUNEIER DESIGN…great kitchen by Arclinea than upgraded the typical Hamptons look to a new level. Also, fantastic lighting fixtures!

As you can see I have included photos of what caught my eye as particularly special  spaces or ones utilizing original materials. Try and take special note of these when you tour the house.

BTW the showhouse closes this coming Sunday, July 21, so best to make plans ASAP.   Enjoy!
