Today I thought I would write about some stunning new lighting to be found at the JERRY PAIR SHOWROOM in New York City. The line is designed by EMANUEL MOREZ INC , a furniture company that makes lovely traditional and transitional furnishings, and the fixtures are really outstanding. The lighting has a look reminiscent of Murano glass fixtures from the sixties but executed in their own unique style.

The chandeliers  are made of innumerable resin leaves that are individually casted and polished by hand. The interior structure of each fixture is created out of metal and  finished in a variety of colors to complement the color palette of the resin pieces. Each light is formed by combining various leaf styles in graded color tones with the central metal structure in a free form pattern…and the result is gorgeous!

The fixtures come in seven different color schemes, one prettier than the next: Clear, Champagne, Autumn, Emerald Champagne, Ocean, Fantasy, and Midnight. I am particularly enamored with the shapes of the fixtures and the mixture of shapes and forms that are combined together. This is what makes them so unusual and appealing.

All of the lights can be customized to fit your room, which is a great added feature. I was having trouble finding something that didn’t look too ordinary for a client to put over her chic Breuton glass and chrome dining room table and ended up designing  a long,  rectangular  fixture  like the one in the picture above.  It looked like a  hand made art glass creation, and trust me, it was incredible!

Aren’t the small lights in lavender (or in any one of the other colors) a great idea for a grouping of lights? I could even see them hanging on either side of a mirror over a women’s vanity a the bathroom.

The line also includes sconces and table lamps created with the same beautiful resin pieces.

It is great to discover something fresh and new being manufactured in the design industry that sparks of handmade sensibility and not mass production. Selecting such creative pieces injects a huge added value to your interiors giving them a dezign edge that makes them stand way out from the average.

Ciao,ciao ’til next time!
